The Portfolio Management Process

In this lesson, you will learn about the role of Portfolio Managers, their credentials, their fiduciary responsibilities and difference in the types of discretionary and directed accounts they manage. You will learn the difference between active and passive portfolio management and how Portfolio Managers handle retirement planning and wealth management. You will see how client objectives are important in establishing asset allocation models, maintaining liquidity and the trade off between risk and return. This lesson explores important concepts of security selection and diversification, asset allocation techniques, modern portfolio theory, indexing and performance measurement.

Each lesson is interactive and interspersed with questions and exercises designed to reinforce the learning experience and concepts presented. A glossary of terms and a mastery test is also included.
